Superstar Rajinikanth is known for his style, something that no other actor has been able to match to date. In the upcoming sci-fi thriller, Rajinikanth and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar are sharing the screen space for the first time in their career and fans just want to know what made a hero like Akshay Kumar agree to do the villain role in 2.0.

To this, the Akshay Kumar had told in an interview to the Mid-Day, “Many people asked me why I wanted to play a villain and I told them, ‘Why not?’ A hero exists only when there’s a villain. I had never imagined that I would be part of the costliest Indian film.”

While he made it clear on why he accepted the role, Akshay also pointed that he and the rest of the team were simply awestruck by Rajinikanth’s style. On this, he had told in the same interview, “Once, we were just sitting on the set, waiting for the next shot and he (Rajinikanth) brushed some dirt off his pants. The entire unit was awestruck by how stylishly he did it. Everything he does is so stylish. I even enjoyed getting punched by him.”

Directed by Shankar, 2.0 is touted to be a sequel to the 2010 hit movie Endhiran. The film has Rajinikanth playing the lead role with Akshay Kumar as the antagonist.

Amy Jackson will be seen pairing up with the Superstar. AR Rahman is scoring the music for this magnum opus while Nirav Shah has cranked the camera and Anthony is doing the editing.

Produced by A Subashkaran under his Lyca Productions banner, 2.0 is slated for a summer release. Made on a budget of Rs. 450 crores, 2.0 will be released in Tamil and Hindi along with its dubbed Telugu version.
